Another great day in San Jose. Work was a grind, but it was awesome other than that. Went to dinner at a restaurant called Tapestry in Los Gatos (Southwest of San Jose.) They made the Zagat Survey, so, yeah, they're good. Had curried duck served over a scallion pancake. Mmmm. Apple crisp for desert. Mmmm. Went for a nice walk after dinner. Amazing area, the downtown as that quaint community feel that outdoor malls like Legacy Village and Crocker Park around try to replicate, but this is the real deal. You've gotta love an area that has Ferraris parallel parked on the street and has an Astin Martin dealership (that will be wiping my nose print and drool from their front window glass tomorrow morning.)
The only sad part was that Melissa didn't come along. I could tell she was pretty burned out and frustrated from the tedious day's work, and just wanted to get back to the hotel and recharge. Still, she's good people and I definitely missed her presence. Part of me wanted to make her go somewhere and meditate with me as I could tell she was really stressed out and perhaps a bit depressed (we can smell our own) but she'd have probably thought I was insane or something.
I love that it's a beautiful 60 degrees (or so) out, and there's locals bundled up in scarves and winter coats. I'm thinking it's a beautiful, cool evening and they're bundled up like it's the dead of winter.
I'll say it again: I. Don't. Want. To. Come. Home. Full stop.
I can't afford the San Jose area, but there's certainly places within my reach in San Francisco. This is the place for me, not Los Angeles. I'm glad I didn't move to LA now, it's given me chance to visit the bay area and find out how much better suited I am for this area. Much less uptight and pretentious than LA, more laid back and a much better match for my personality.
Yeah, fuck Cleveland. Fuck Ohio. Fuck the midwest. Fuck them all.
