The last couple of weeks I've been sleeping later than normal during the week. Not a lot, but it's been pretty consistent.
I usually shoot for 6am, which gives me enough time to be able to relax and take the morning slow. Eat breakfast, read the paper a little, do a crossword or word search, meditate a bit, check the e-mail, and just generally get ready for the day at a leisurely pace. But, I know I can hit the snooze alarm twice and sleep all the way until 6:20 and still be able to get ready and get to work without rushing, though it leaves no time for e-mail checking or meditation.
Usually, the 6:20 thing is pretty rare. But that's changed the last couple weeks, I don't think I've gotten up at 6:00 even once. I've even started slamming snooze an extra time and sleeping until 6:30 on a couple of occasions. I'm flexible with my start time at work, so I still don't have to rush, but it feels like I'm starting off the day on the wrong foot nonetheless.
This kind of behavior is much more common for me during the winter, and is usually pretty rare during the summer. During the winter it's cold and it's dark, who wants to get out of bed? But, during the summer it's usually warm and sunny. It's a beautiful day, who wants to stay in bed?
*shrug* I guess maybe I'm getting a little burned out, and maybe in a little bit of a rut. Feels like time for a change, I just don't know what yet.
