Things Are Afoot

Something is up at the company I’m contracting with right now, and whatever it is it’s going down tomorrow.

They regularly have these “town hall” meetings, which give upper management a chance to talk about how the company is doing, where it’s going, and all that kind of stuff. As well as give them a chance to communicate with the rank and file and field questions/concerns. They’re having one tomorrow, and this one they’re including the contractors in. Usually, the contractors aren’t even directly notified or invited, but are usually told about it by their direct supervisors and told they can attend if they want, but it’s not required. This time, even the contractors are required to attend.

Plus, we have this giant plasma screen TV in the reception area that displays promotional movies, welcome messages for visitors, etc. My boss asked me to show her how to remote access the computer that runs it and change the display, which usually falls on me to handle. She needs to update it tomorrow, and was concerned about how she’d test things as nobody is supposed to see whatever it is she’s putting up there until tomorrow.

Further, the entire upper management staff is in town for this one, which is rare. Usually several of them participate remotely, but they whole gang is here this time around.

Plus, there’s just a general buzz about something being up. Rumors about the company being sold have persisted for months now, so perhaps that’s what’s up. Perhaps the company is getting re-absorbed back into it’s parent company, which it split off from a few years ago and has underperformed ever since. Perhaps the doors are closing. Regardless of what’s up, I suspect tomorrow may not be the best of days. *laugh*

Ah well, what can I do? I’m not gonna sit around and fret and worry about it. The sun is actually out for the first time in ages, the weather is fairly nice, and I’ve got a full glass of wine. I’m kicking back and relaxing and enjoying the evening. Tomorrow will be tomorrow.

Besides… other good things are afoot as well. But I won’t talk about them just yet. Too soon, don’t want to jinx them. It’s a seeklet for now, mmm-kay?

Oh c’mon… I haven’t been cryptic or vague nearly as much lately, so give me a break! *grin*
