I had my first of three dentist appointments this morning, and it went pretty well. Not so bad, physically and financially.
Today I just got an initial cleaning, which did hurt a bit at times and caused a bit of bleeding, and I finally got the last of my orthodontics removed (I had one brace left that had never gotten taken out) so that’s nice as well. My teeth already look much cleaner and even a bit whiter just from the cleaning, and it’ll be nice not having that brace shredding the inside of my mouth any more. I can’t get over how different my teeth feel just from the cleaning.
My gums are a mess, so I need to get into a good flossing habit to help out there. He says I’ve gotten in pretty much just in time to stop any permanent or irreparable bone and gum damage from occurring, so a big w00t there.
I have two more appointments to go to now, one in mid-April (soonest they could fit me in) and the second two weeks later. Five fillings the first time, four the second. Those will be the appointments that will pretty much suck.
All totaled, this will end up costing me about $1200, which is right in the range I was expecting, so another w00t there. But it will all be worth it when everything is finally taken care of.
