Weekly Diet Update

I really shouldn’t be calling this a “diet” as it’s more than that, it’s really a permanent change of lifestyle. If I go back to my old habits and start eating crap, not getting enough exercise, and sitting around on my ass all day playing Half-Life 2, I’ll go right back to where I was before I started all this. I’ve recognized and accepted that I can never go back to eating like I did when I was still a pup, so this is a permanent change. I’ve primarily returned to being a vegetarian, I haven’t eaten any red meat since I started and only have poultry or fish maybe once a week. I don’t think I’ll switch to a full vegetarian diet, but I’m pretty sure I’m done with red meat and will stick to only the occasional poultry and fish.

The numbers are a little deceiving this week, I had actually gained two pounds by Tuesday of last week, and then took four pounds off since then. Every week so far, I’ve put a pound on coming out of the weekend and I’m pretty sure I know why. One, I sit on my ass most of the weekend. I really need to find something to do, mostly on Saturdays, to get me out and about. Two, I eat out with the family every Sunday morning, and that crappy restaurant food isn’t helping me any. There, I’ve just got to watch more closely what I order.

Still, I’m actually ahead of my target right now. My goal was to be down to 160 by new years, and I’m trending to hit it towards the beginning of December right now. So it’s all good.
