It’s atmospheric and minimal, but not quite ambient. I started with a drum kit made from recordings at the European Space Agency’s European Space Research and Technology Centre, which is where both the song title and mood came from. I layered in some Apollo 13 flight recordings for extra science!

I’d hoped to have this one done by April 14th to coincide with the anniversary of the infamous “Houston, we’ve had a problem” day, but missed it by a few days. Though, today, April 17th, is the anniversary of the astronauts safely returning to earth, so I’ve got that going for me.
With this song, I had successfully completed the RPM Challenge as it took me over the 35 minute mark for the month. Nonetheless, I decided to continue and go for the 10 song mark as well. And I’m glad I did, as the final three overtime songs were among my favorites from the challenge.
