Journal Entries From Sunday, July 23rd

6:22AM

Yeah, I woke up way too early today. My brain is still on Cleveland time, so it feels much later than it is. I've felt a little of the effects of the higher altitudes as well. Things like being just a little lightheaded sometimes when I stand up too fast, a bit of dehydration, stuff like that. Very mild though, nothing to be concerned about.

So far, the program has been very tightly scheduled, so I've had no time at all to just walk about and explore the grounds. Hopefully I can at least get a few minutes to take a few pictures, but who knows?

The excitement/nervousness about seeing Melissa hasn't really hit me yet, but I'm sure it will later. I'm just very relaxed and at ease right now, and very in the moment. The place just seems to exude mindfulness. But, I'm sure as it gets into the afternoon and the program is wrapping up all I'll be able to think about is looking into her eyes again and being in her energy for the first time in far too many months.

Sigh.

8:43AM

Hooray! There was lots of time between breakfast and the next session, so I got to walk the grounds and take some pictures. This area is so beautiful, I would dishonor it by attempting to put it to words, so I won't.

The wildlife here is amazing. So many beautiful birds flying about and signing. Rabbits hopping about in the bushes. A family of deer strolled through earlier this morning. I even sat and watched a hummingbird go about his morning for a while. It's o easy to be present here. To just be.

2:40PM

The program is over, the good-byes are said, and it's time to move on. I will definitely do something like this again, hopefully a longer stay next time. Now, the countdown to Melissa time beings. *laugh* I'll be getting back to Denver a couple hours later than I'd originally intended, but it's all good.
