A Few Sites I’m Digging Lately

Zaadz

It's a sort of community site for the spiritual. It seems to have a heavy Zen/Buddhist slant, which is just fine with me. *smile* I haven't had as much time as I like to participate in the discussions there, but it seems really interesting. I've also starting mirroring the more spiritually-oriented posting from this blog to my blog on that site.

Traffic.com

So much better than the other local traffic monitoring outlets. It's the only one I've found for the Cleveland area that isn't so skewed towards the east side that they become mostly useless for us west-siders. I fire up my iBook and check this site every morning before I leave, and it's already saved me from one traffic jam!

Newsvine

Another of those oh-so-trendy “Web 2.0” style sites. It's a social news site where the users submit the stories and select which stories get published on the home page via a voting system. Like Digg.com, but for all news and not just tech.

Adagio Teas

Best place for tea on the planet, IMHO. It's where I order all my tea from. I mostly included it because I'm pretty sure I told someone I'd send them the link, but I can't remember who. Perhaps they'll see it here. *grin*

GovTrack

This site rocks, if you're interested in politics. You can sign up to track whatever congressmen and bills you want, and it creates both a custom page and RSS feed of everything they're up to. It lets you keep track of what you're local senators and representatives are up to, what they're saying and how they're voting.

Google Browser Sync

Okay, it's not technically a website, but it is probably the coolest Firefox extension ever. It automagically syncs up all your browser settings on every computer you install it on. Bookmarks, saved passwords, cookies, all of it. It even remembers which tabs you had open. So, for example, whatever tabs you had open in your browser at work when you shut it down will open up on your browser at home when you fire it up (it asks you if you want to do this, and even lets you pick which tabs you want to open, so it's nice and friendly in that regard!)

And, yes, it would seem I am still Google's bitch. *laugh*
