Things I Won’t Miss

Well, I have the keys to the new apartment now. The phone is already switched over to the new place, the electric is switching over today, my mail switches over tomorrow, the paper switches on Sunday. 95% of what can be packed is packed. I’m ready to go!

With all that, I’ve gotten to thinking about the things I won’t miss about the old apartment, as there’s really nothing about it I will miss. *laugh* So, here we go:

Having a well-traveled sidewalk go right past my living room window. Ditto for my patio. There’s not a whole lot of privacy to be had right now.

Having the rental office right across from that sidewalk. Again, with all the people going in and out of there, there’s not much privacy.

The mailboxes for the entire apartment being right across the driveway. The endless car doors opening and closing, engines idling, and radios blasting at all hours of the night won’t be missed.

Being so close to a busy intersection. I’ve had my walls shake from people’s excessively loud car radios as they wait at the red light there.

My neighbor. This guy has one of those excessively loud car radios I just mentioned, and doesn’t turn it down when he pulls in and out of the lot. He even loves to sit there with it blasting right outside my apartment. He comes and goes at all hours of the night, and isn’t quiet about it. Too many nights getting woken up at 2 or 3 in the morning by him banging shit around or blasting his radio.

That’s it so far… if I think of any more I’ll edit this and add them in.
