Uh Oh…

I think my old, reliable iPod might be getting a bit sick. I've noticed it locks up for about a second every once in a while while playing, not terribly long and it recovers quickly (and it does it very rarely) but it never used to do that. It's also tripping up on files it never used to have problems with, rather than playing through errors in the song file it just stops playing it and goes on to the next track. So it seems it's error-correction is going awry. A sign of impending failure?

I'd hate to see the old girl go, she's been my little buddy for five years now. This is one of the original iPods, and I bought it back when they were first introduced (yes, I'm Apple's bitch) so it's survived quite admirably.

I shamefully discarded her into a box of tech trash and replaced her with the newer, prettier model. When the new hotness became old and busted, she was still sitting there waiting for me to come back to her. I briefly lusted after another newer, prettier model but came to my senses. I was jilted by the last pretty thing, I won't be seduced again. I've learned my lesson.

Not sure why I've ascribed a female identity onto it, there are really no analogs in my real life to fit this metaphor. What can I say? My life is a series of broken metaphors. *shrug*
