Strange Experience

I just had one of those “Hrm, that was unusual” moments.

I was on my way outside for one of my several daily walks (I really need to get up and away from the desk or I go nutty, plus the exercise is good) and walking through the reception area, on my way to the elevators. There was this woman standing in the reception area (there’s a bunch of E&Y auditors in the building this week for training, presumably she was one of that lot) waiting for who knows what. Now, she’s not the type you could miss, eye-catchingly beautiful, so of course I looked at her when I first walking into the reception area. She looked back, nothing unusual there. But, out of the corner of my eye, I could see she kept looking over at me as I walked through the reception area. Hrm. I glanced over as I was entering the elevator and she’d turned around and was looking at me again. Hrm.

I was subtle enough that I know it wasn’t a case of her looking at me because I kept looking at her, or anything like that. Once I got on the elevators I was checking to make sure my zipper wasn’t down or I didn’t have a big booger hanging out my nose or something like that, nothing like that. Hrm. I know she wasn’t checking me out. See, when I say she was beautiful, I’m understating if anything. She was Victoria’s Secret model gorgeous, the blond goddess type. Me? I’m not all that. I’m a realist, there’s know way I’ll ever catch the eye of a woman like that. Women like that and nerd like me are not going to be sharing a moment, you know? Totally out of my league.

So, the whole thing has me scratching my head and wondering “WTF?”
