Once upon a time, I was a full-time Macromedia Flash developer/designer. For most of 2000-2003, from Flash 4 all the way up to the current version, in fact.
Then things changed.
Towards the end of 2003 I re-designed my site and got rid of the Flash interface, switching to just HTML/CSS. Then at the beginning of 2004 I started a new job designing and developing in HTML/CSS full-time, extricating Flash from my professional pursuits to match the personal switch.
I haven't looked back since.
Today was the first time I had even launched a copy of Flash in nearly nine months, and it was only to use Flash's Trace Bitmap command. I had a simple logo I needed to take from raster to vector and I needed to do it quick, and Illustrator's Auto-Trace function was doing a poor job, so I gave Flash a run at it. It ended up doing only a marginally better job than Illustrator did, so I broke down and spent the extra time hand-tracing it.
It wasn't really a conscious decision to break away from Flash, and I wouldn't say I'd never go back (work is work, after all!), but I don't really miss it much either. Going back to HTML & CSS presents an entirely different and refreshing set of challenges after roughly 4 years of Flash work. I got excited about designing for the web again.
