For whatever reason, I woke up really early both Saturday and Sunday this past weekend. Where I normally don’t wake up until 9:30-10:00 on weekends, I was up at 7:30 on Saturday and 7:00 on Sunday. It’s amazing how much longer the weekend felt just from waking up earlier. And, to be pedantic, it actually was 5 or 6 hours longer.
I’ve been meaning to try to get up earlier and not waste so much of the morning with sleep, especially as I know from past experience that I do better with a little less sleep. I feel more energized throughout the day and get to sleep better that night. This finally gave me the motivation to get up early today.
Usually I tap the snooze alarm for up to an entire hour each morning before work, today I only used it once. And that was only because I forgot to turn the heat on before I went to bed last night and, as a result, the apartment was freezing. So the 10 minute snooze let me stay snuggled up under the blanket while the place warmed up a bit.
