I’ve spent most of the last hour or so watching and listening to the rain. Mostly listening. The rain creates such a wonderful white noise that drowns out all the other little sounds of the world, good and bad. There’s such a great neutrality to it all.
Plus, it’s such a source of life. The rain feeds the plants, which in turn feeds us and keeps us alive. For those of us not vegetarians, it feeds the animals that feeds us and keeps us alive. It feeds the flowers which bloom and feed our eyes, bringing us joy. It washes away all the dirt from the world, leaving everything cleansed and ready to begin anew. A clean slate.
If it were just a bit warmer out today, I might take a walk in the rain. Let it cleanse me and feed me.
